Amazing service ,amazing food !!!love this place try the seafood enchiladas they were awesome
The team of servers and cooks at Morena's really went above and beyond for my family and I. Our group of 7 arrived by 8:30pm on a Tuesday just prior to their close at 9pm. We asked them if the kitchen was still open and they said of course...come on in. We were coming from a late night sporting event at the high school and they welcomed our group, provided excellent service and did not make us feel rushed at all. The food and service were both excellent. It was also our daughters 16th birthday and all of the Morena's team came out to sing and bring her a dessert before we left! I highly recommend our server Elvis, the Cadillac Margaritas, and Taco Tuesday Specials!
A good place for your mexican food fix. We happened to be in the area of RMV and just wanted something to eat so we ran into this place. I ordered the street taco plate and honestly everything was pretty delicious. I finished the whole plate and this is coming from someone who doesn't really enjoy refried beans. The tacos were solid but I'd rather have them on corn tortillas and I feel like I've just had better, especially someone who been to San Diego and LA for street tacos. The service was quick and friendly and the overall vibe inside the restaurant was nice. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area to try other items
The only thing better than their food is their service!!! What amazing, friendly staff! Restaurant is clean and tidy. My burrito was on the lunch menu, $15, and the size of a small child! Insane size and super juicy.
Nice spot in Rancho Mission Viejo. We stopped in to Morena's for an early dinner. Carlos B. and Carlos R. helped us out and were both fantastic servers with excellent customer service and people skills. We started with drinks and guacamole, which were great. The Don Julio Blanco with club soda and three limes muddled were mixed to perfection. My wife ordered the chicken enchiladas verdes with rice and beans and loved the dish. The chicken was well cooked and the food tasty. I had the asada asada platter, which was good but more like a NY steak but still tasty with rice, beans, and a cheese enchilada. The chips, salsa, and tortillas were also fresh and tasty. The ambiance was positive, and the establishment appeared to be popular amongst the locals. We also found out that Morena's is also in Lake Forest, where Mimi's Cafe used to be. Highly recommended.
I always say when you walk out of place after eating there and can say "That was really good" then it was definitely satisfying. Our original plan was to go to In N Out and saw this place while driving through the parking lot. We're not from the area and wanted to grab something to eat before driving back over the hill to Murrieta. This place will be for sure a go to anytime we're back over there. I had the seafood tacos and the corn tortillas were so light and fresh and melted in your mouth. Each meat, lobster, shrimp and Mahi Mahi were seasoned perfectly. My husband had the chicken tostada bowl and it was also very tasty. He had to keep fighting me off from eating his tostada shell because I couldn't get enough of how good and light it was. I can't wait to go back and try some different items. What a nice surprise and delightful lunch we had!
We went on the weekend for the second time after not having been there for years. It was delicious. The patio is nice when the weather is good and it's in a great little center (we went to Yogurtland after with our kids for dessert). The service was great. Attentive without being too intrusive. I find it very rude when waiters are constantly interrupting conversation, but that did not happen here, yet we didn't feel forgotten. I had the fish tacos and my husband and kids enjoyed the mixed fajitas. The fajitas are served on a sizzling plate. Tortillas are nice and fresh and the chips and salsa were also good! Next time we plan to ask for some of the avocado salsa to have with our chips!
D18 - Morena's Mexican Cuisine AR & I chose Morena's Mexican Cuisine for our midweek date night mostly due to it's location. Also, AR still had a lot of work to do that evening so we agreed that Morena's would be the best spot for dinner. Morena's is located within the Sendero Market Place which is about as close to a mid-point for both of us. The restaurant is central to both our locations so it made a perfect place for a nice dinner. The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. There were tables with families, friends, and quite a few children. (i.e. - Noisy) Since it was date night, AR & I decided to grab a table on the outside patio. It was a bit chilly but thankfully there were outdoor patio heaters, that helped. We had the entire patio to ourselves. It was nice & quiet... 'But slightly chilly. It was a great night. Again, AR still had more work to do that evening, we agreed that it would be a shorter than usual date night. Our food came out in a timely manner and we both enjoyed everything. Like the food, the service was also exceptional. I thought that since we were the only couple out on the patio, we would've been forgotten about by the wait staff. This was not the case... 'Well, at least not for most of the evening. However, I do believe that we were forgotten about @ the end of the evening. I had to go inside to ask for the check and to-go boxes. Aside from that, it was a great date night. We will definitely be back. - Big Aloha! Overall rating: 4 1/2 Stars (Rounding up) Food: 5 Ambiance: 4 Service: 5 Value: 4
Lovely Mexican restaurant right in Rancho Mission Viejo. This is my 2nd time trying this restaurant and the CARNE ASADA plate is out of this world! It comes with both a LARGE serving of Carne Asada meat grilled to perfection, and then to top off the plate there is a cheese enchilada as well as rice & beans. All for $30. You literally have enough for two meals. This time I also tried the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans plate and it was delicious as well. Love the dark interior with tv's and soccer playing. But more than that I love the service. The young teen at the host desk was so sweet and accommodating. And our waiter was excellent as well; he kept checking in with us and making sure everything was perfect. Love this little restaurant in the Gelsen's shopping mall. You can't go wrong with Mexican food! Go try it!
Let me start by saying the service was TOP NOTCH. I'm 100% coming back because of how great all the wait staff was during my visit! I came during lunchtime on a Saturday and they really weren't that busy, but that did not mean their service slacked. I was one of 3 or 4 parties in there and all 5-6 staff working was paying attention to my drink level, if I needed a refill on chips, and just over all how I was progressing through my meal. I ordered an ala carte cheese enchilada and an ala carte shredded beef taco and they were both delicious. The enchilada sauce had a ton of flavor and the shredded beef was seasoned well! I asked for a spicier hot sauce and they brought me a habanero hot sauce which was very good-- the spice level was raised, but it wasn't so high that it wasn't enjoyable, just how I like it! The habanero hot sauce paired well with the taco! The only thing I wish I knew was that the enchilada came with a sour cream-- I would have asked to remove that, but scraping it off, I still didn't lose a lot of the flavor of the sauce. After I finished my two items, I ate all the drippings of the enchilada sauce with my remaining chips, soooo good! The atmosphere is great, there's floor to ceiling windows which give a great indoor-outdoor feel and they have plenty of actual indoor and outdoor seating as well. There's great Mexican-Spanish music playing and this would be a wonderful place for dinner and drinks! Would love to come back when I'm in the area!
